Akan Abdula was born in December 1978 in Skopje, Macedonia (then part of Yugoslavia).
He moved to Türkiye for his undergraduate studies and graduated from the Department of Business Administration at Bilkent University with an academic merit scholarship.
He earned his MBA degree from Case Western Reserve University, Weatherhead School of Management, where he studied on a full scholarship.
In 2003, he returned to Türkiye from the United States.
He has over 23 years of professional experience in advertising, marketing strategies, brand management, and market research.
He served as Research Director at Millward Brown.
At Grey Istanbul, he held the position of Vice President responsible for Strategy and Planning and was also a member of the Grey Group Worldwide Global Strategic Council, where he was one of the 12 strategists leading the council globally.
He served as a member of the Advertising Self-Regulatory Board.
He has received numerous Gold Effie Awards, including those for most successful product launches and most impactful social responsibility campaigns.
He founded FutureBright Research and later transformed it into FutureBright Group. Today, FutureBright Group is a data-driven organization serving more than 1000 global and local brands, operating through offices in multiple countries, and managing projects across more than 40 countries.
In the Favicon study, he was listed among the world’s top 200 most prominent leaders in data science, artificial intelligence, analytics, and machine learning.
He personally advises Türkiye’s leading brands.
In addition to guiding the establishment of the FutureBright Art Foundation, he works with young entrepreneurs under FutureBright Ventures.
He is the author of The Unpredictable Ones. Despite being a recent publication, the book has already reached its tenth edition.

He has been married to Başak Karaca Abdula since 2007 and is the father of Aylin and Nil.
